1 Samuel 24v5 And the men of David said to him, “Here is the day of which the LORD said to you, ‘Behold, I will give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you. ‘” Then David arose and stealthily cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.
Today we shall take some time to talk about David’s Heart. David was called The man after God’s Heart.
One question that always comes back is the one of knowing How could God call a man with so many wrong dids, ‘’a man after God’s Heart”. A man who committed adultery, who killed men just for his own pleasures. He was so self-centered. How could God give him such a name? Why did God not give it to all those Prophets? Not even Jeremiah, not Isaiah, not Joseph. But David.
David had something that others didn’t have. David could see his worst enemy trying to kill him, but he stayed sitting down close to him, playing his harp so that Saul his worst enemy would be well.
It is not strange to ignore or run away from people who fight us or want us to die. The Bible shows us that David had so much love in his heart that he could take time to take care of the person who wanted to kill him. David had a Heart of love! Most of the time, we act with people according to the way they act with us. Then, in the end, we have no personality! because we are defined according to those who are before us. Then how are we different from pagans?
David could see his enemy dying and just cut his clothes. David could worship God with all his heart, dancing until his wife was ashamed. David was the man after God’s heart.
Prayer :
Lord, I know My Heart has always been hard, I have difficulties in forgiving and showing love to those who are difficult and wicked with me. Please give me the strength to become a better person until I become a man after God’s heart. Amen.
