1 John 5: ¹⁴ This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. ¹⁵ And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

There is a specific modus operandi we must follow while praying. 

Let us first start by defining prayer. Prayer is communicating with God first of all. We do this by praising Him, confessing our sin before Him, thanking Him and asking Him for our needs and desires with all due respect. 

Also, Prayer is communion with our Creator. When we pray, we engage in loving fellowship with the Maker of heaven and earth. He has graciously invited us into a close covenant relationship with Him through the person and work of Christ.

Some of our prayers don’t work because we do not pray with scriptures and backed by the alignment of what we ask for with the will of God. A prayer outside of the will of God and not aligned with the Word of God remains mere emotions and God is not moved by emotions. It takes boldness to talk to God. 

Believer, you now see how important it is to know the Word of God. It makes you know the does and don’t in your relationship with God. It also makes you know when your flesh gives out desires and your ego tries to market it as the will of God. 

The Bible tells us that when we pray according to His will he hears us. So it tells you what there is a possibility that you may not be heard if it is not according to His will. 

Prayer: 

Lord I re dedicated my life unto You. Please teach me Your ways so I may know how to function with You and for You. Amen.
