Proverbs 11:28 He who leans on, trusts in, and is confident in his riches shall fall, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like a green bough.
Money, fame, and the love for praise are great deceptions. If you put your self-esteem in these, heartbreaks will follow you throughout your lives. Men will show interest in you when you get all of these but in the days of your sorrow, just like a job, they will abandon you.Â
Build relationships that don’t depend on all of these for they are like air in a balloon. When you burst it, nothing will be left inside. Also, focusing all the essence of your stay on earth on riches will make you restless and empty. Only Jesus can fill any gap or space in your heart. Select your acquaintances with solid criteria like love or better still the fear of God. With these, your life will have more meaning and you will enjoy it better. Riches are not bad but riches not gotten progressively will ruin you and putting your trust in them will rob your soul of every joy. Avoid such a mistake!
