For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC)
The Bible doesn’t say that you have to have self-control to go to heaven. You are free to be out of control if you want to; it is entirely up to you. The Word does say that you have to believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior (See Romans 10:9-10).
But if you want to live the good life that God has prearranged and laid out for you before the foundation of the world, you will need to discipline yourself to do whatever His Word says to do, or whatever the Holy Spirit speaks to your heart to do. God offers you the grace to live a holy life that will reap many blessings in the days to come.
Prayer of the Day:
Lord, thank You for saving me by grace. Help me walk in self-control, obey Your Word, and live the blessed life You prepared for me
