June 11, 2023.

Genesis 12:2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].

There is a reason why God blesses us. If you don’t know why God blesses, you probably cannot be blessed yet! The Bible quotes that we ask but we do not receive because we do not ask well. A good way of not asking well is asking just to satisfy the ego. 

It should always be kept in mind that the Lord delights in blessing us all. The only problem is that our blessings will not only be for us,  if not it will cause our downfalls. Can a lamp enlighten itself? 

The plan of God is that we should prosper and not perish. So if the blessings we want from Him can make us perish, He will keep them and train us first until we have the capacity and the ability to withstand whatever is set for us. 

While you vet your motives and ask God to vet them too, build steadfastness as the Spirit leads you into the will of your loving God.

Prayer: 

God, it is very true that most of the time I ask things from You out of envy. I pray today that You may set me free from the spirit of envy so that I can work solely for Your Glory. Amen.
