John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

What does OBEDIENCE mean? In simple terms it means hearing the word of God and acting on it. It implies aligning our will to God’s will; doing what God has asked us to do. It is when we completely surrender to His authority and base our decisions and our actions on His Word.

All of us know that we must obey God, but somehow we still act in rebellion and many times end up into trouble as a result of our disobedience.

How come even when we know what God wants us to do we act otherwise?

Could it be we don’t really understand the meaning of Obedience or we forget how important it is? Or we need help on how to obey

Me don’t obey because we ignore how much it is crucial for us. Imagine if Jesus had disobeyed when God asked Him to go down on earth, we would have not even been a life. Imagine all the lives He could have destroyed. In the same way, there are generations that suffer from the stupid mistakes and disobedience that we commit daily.It is an act of worship as it demonstrates our love for God and sets us apart.

Obedience is the hallmark of our salvation.

Although we are saved by Grace through the redemptive work of the cross and by the blood of Jesus; It is our obedience sets us apart as authentic children of God.

Obedience is our way of showing God that we love Him; and it is through our obedience that God recognizes us and enables us to enjoy His Love.

Thus, our primary motive for obedience must be “to show God that we love Him”

Prayer : 

Heavenly Father I’m sorry for all the times I deliberately refused to listen to your word. As from today, give me a heart that loves you and that respects your words. I know that in order to obey to your commands I should be able to hear from You. I pray for the grace of hearing from You as from today. In Jesus’: name.
