Genesis 31v32 “Anyone with whom you find your gods shall not live. In the presence of our kinsmen point out what I have that is yours, and take it.” Now Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.”
The word of God tells us that, Jacob loved Rachel so much that he worked several years for Laban, just to marry her. He loved so much that he idealized her and was unable to notice her weaknesses. He could only see her beauty.
We are going to learn together that, an exaggerated love can be harmful both to the person loving and the person who is loved. Jacob loved Rachel so much that he pampered her, and neglected her weaknesses instead of correcting her. These weaknesses became so big that she had the courage to steal the gods of her father, while she knew that Jacob served the Almighty God. She didn’t only steal those gods but also lied that she didn’t have them.
Jacob could never imagine that she was the one.
Parents have to be careful about the way they show love to their children. You might show excess love to your child at a point that you spoil his education. A parent or a person has to be careful on the way he loves another person. Let it not blind you ! Hold your heart. More so, be very careful when someone loves you allot. Don’t let it deceive you. A parent can love you at a point that you let the pride grow up in you, and finish by losing your destiny.

Lord I am thankful for this wonderful word. Grant me your wisdom, so that I can love wisely and not in excess, teach me humility please Father.
