The first prayer we have to make before looking for a spouse is to pray for his/her submission to Christ. From this, every other good thing can be derived for the Bible says that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom “. A Christ-fearing partner is a way to a successful marriage and relationship. This doesn’t exclude the fact that differences may still arise but knowing and being submitted to Christ makes he/she accountable to someone and accountability is a great asset in every relationship. The fear of the Lord will make each partner never cross the “red line” we see nowadays’ couples crossing.
