Be careful with what masters you !This passage describes those who reject Christ in favor of the world as ”enslaved” by their own sins. No matter what they may claim, such persons prove their spiritual condition by constantly returning to their moral filth.

Peter recites what may have been a proverb of the day: “For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.” This can be positive or negative. Those “overcome” with addictions and sins are certainly controlled by those. On the other hand, Peter began this letter by referring to himself as a slave or bond servant of Jesus Christ. One of the promises of life in Christ, life under the master Jesus, is true freedom, even from the harsh demands of our sinful selves.

We have to be careful with what masters us ! Another way of saying it, is that we have to be careful with our weaknesses, with what controls us ! With what is becoming an addiction for us ! Be it our phone, alcohol, a human being or anything, because you might be enslaved by this one !๐Ÿ’”

It might separate you from your real call, it might waste your time and divert you from your objectives. I call upon your attention today, to examine yourself and look for anything that is becoming an addiction or taking too much time, and take the right decision, before it enslaves you. Something can enslave you until you miss a whole season of your life !

Prayer

Lord help me completely separate from this addiction that takes my time, I refuse to be a slave of sin and any distraction (start praying while naming those things).

Amen.๐Ÿ’“
