1 Samuel 16:1 THE Lord said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided for Myself a king among his sons.

Whenever you are serving God, always make sure that in that service you don’t become the god. 

Throughout this story, we see Saul serving himself and annoying God bit by bit. 

He disrespects most of the commands God gives to do things his way. 

Countless times we see that his disobedience irritates God and the Lord through Samuel warns him. 

It gets to a point where the Lord completely removes His presence from him to go find someone who pleases Him. 

This shows that no one is indispensable for the work of God. If the appointed ones aren’t ready to follow instructions, the Lord will carry His work to completion with other ready and obedient soldiers. 

In our walk with God, it is very important to have in mind that; our protection and immunity lie in our obedience to God. Outside of it, we are very vulnerable. 

Prayer :

Lord the heart of men is so deceitful. Who can know it?

Father, You are the only one able to keep our hearts on track. Please Lord, never permit me to be full of myself. Amen.
