Genesis 4v 4 to 5; And Abel also brought an offering of fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering.

Today is the first day of a new month, another opportunity for you to give the best of yourself to God. The difference between Cain and Abel is that, when Abel wanted to offer something to God, he did that with his heart. He gave what had value to him. Giving something valuable to somebody shows that the person counts for you. I mean, the degree at which somebody counts for you can be seen in what you offer him.

If you offer most of your time to your phone, it is clear that it represents the priority in your life. With our friends and family members, it is clear that there are some people for whom you know that you can never spend a certain amount. It is the same thing with God. What do you offer him? Is the best of yourself? Or is it just the remaining?

Today I want to remind you that, God refused the offering of Cain. If you are a friend of God, be a good friend.

Prayer: Lord, I am sorry for all the leftovers I’ve been giving you. Be it my time, offerings, heart, energy, and so on. Today, as I take the engagement to give you the best of myself, Holy Spirit help me to be faithful to this engagement.

Amen.

Your Sister, Eden.
