Rejoicing is a commandment! Rejoicing is a way of being grateful to the Lord no matter what we go through. In ancient days, rejoicing was a call to joy and often used as a salutation. Joy is more than happiness. Happiness is an external feeling that is just temporary. Joy is an inner feeling which is not just expressed by a simple smile, but by the state of a heart that is permanently in peace.
Situations of stress and pressure can come, but when the Joy of the Lord feels your heart no matter what you face you are at rest, and people like staying with you. It also gives better physical health, it boosts your immune system, it promotes a healthier lifestyle. It also makes you feel less pain, increases your resilience, and helps you live longer. Being joyful is just a decision followed by the help of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the grace, to rejoice always, no matter what I face
