Matthew 6:16 And whenever you are fasting, do not look gloomy and sour and dreary like the hypocrites, for they put on a dismal countenance, that their fasting may be apparent to and seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full already.
If you are doing anything to please God, do it heartily!
The fact that many do stuff to please God and at the same time draw the attention of men makes their sacrifices go to men and not God.Â
This is because the spirit behind their action is not sincere. It will want that man (humans) grant them cheers for what they do.Â
We see people going about helping the poor and glorifying themselves for that at every corner of our street. This behavior is a clear representation of the fact that they’re still so full of themselves and surely not of the Holy Spirit.Â
In the things of God, one must know that whatever you do or say should be for the glory of God. Humans taking the Glory will destroy them and cause them to be selfish.
Prayer :
Oh God! Break me, shape me until I look more like you so that I may never look at the glory of your blessings in my life and go far away from you because of my pride. Amen.Â
