Psalm 51:17 My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.

Surrender is the ultimate sacrifice unto God. A surrendered spirit is a vessel ready to carry the power of God. The Bible states that our God resists the proud and lifts up the humble at the opportune time. It is always good to submit to the Lord and walk accordingly with His directions. The greatest problem mankind is facing is the problem of self-sufficiency. This attitude can delay your destiny for so many years and consequently make you waste a lot of time. Take for example the story of the Israelites when they left Egypt. They were really disobedient and wanted to make God’s promise come to pass in their own way which wasn’t possible. This act of disobedience delayed them forty years. So for something that was supposed to happen in a few days (traveling out of Egypt), they spent 40 years. When you submit your lives as a sacrifice, God can never despise that; He will come for you surely.
